How Stem Cell Can Cure Hair Loss
Individuals suffering from hair loss are renewed with the hope of using the stem cell technology to cure their condition. Based on the data from the American Hair Loss Association, two-thirds of men suffer from hair loss when they reach 35. Women account for 40%.
It is not easy to treat hair loss. But thanks to technological developments in the field, there are now various ways to address the problem. From medication to hair regeneration procedures, there is an emerging technique that is really promising- the stem cell technique.
Options for Hair Loss
Hair loss conditions vary from one person to other. Some may experience mild hair loss problems that can still be remedied by using medications. There are FDA approved medications that you can use. For instance, you can use Rogaine and Propecia. These medications are evaluated and approved by FDA for those who do not want to undergo procedures.

Some people who want to have a long lasting effect would result to hair transplant. Apart from this treatment, you can also try hair regeneration techniques. With the different developments in the medical field, there are now several techniques and procedures that you can use in order to address hair loss problems.
One of the recent studies in hair-follicle-generating stem cells treatment led by an Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Dermatology brought new discoveries to the emerging technique in hair regeneration. The study used human skill cells also known as dermal fibroblasts.
Human skin cells were converted to pluripotent stem by adding three genes. Using various techniques, researchers used iPSCs to create scalable amounts of EpSCS which were then implanted to mice.
The researchers observed that the cells regenerated follicles. They claim that this technique has a lot of potential especially when it comes to hair regrowth. Although the said technique is not yet perfect, it is on the right track. With continuous research, experts can further improve the technique to deliver optimal results.
The discoveries in the study are relatively new and will still require further experiments and studies. But many experts will agree in unison that this treatment might be the hope to cure baldness.
